We welcome applications from highly motivated students and postdoctoral researchers interested in neurobiology, developmental biology, and functional genomics. We offer opportunities to pursue experimental, computational, or combined research projects. Please email Mari with any inquiries.
- We encourage postdoctoral researchers to apply for postdoctoral funding schemes, including EMBO, and Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) postdoctoral fellowships. By applying for an MSCA, candidates can access three funding pathways: MSCA, ERA Fellowships, and national funding schemes. Further information.
- We recruit PhD students mainly through the calls of the Centre for Doctoral Studies in Science and Technology at the University of Tartu. Please get in touch ahead of the application period to discuss opportunities. The main application period is in mid-May.
- We offer opportunities for research rotations and BSc and MSc thesis projects. As places are limited, interested students are encouraged to get in touch well in advance. Students intending to submit their thesis in May are expected to complete most of their literature review by January and rest of the thesis by April. We recommend coursework in neuroscience, developmental biology, evolutionary biology, cell biology, histology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, statistics, and programming.
In your email, please introduce yourself, tell us a bit about your academic background, and attach a CV. If you are a BSc student, let us know what you are studying, how far you are in your programme, and how much time you have available to commit to research. If you are further along in your academic career, please include the contact details of one or two references. We would also like to hear a few sentences about why you are interested in the lab and our research. Providing this information will help us review your inquiry, and we will aim to respond within one to two weeks.
